The cutlery carries a design with strong roots in Norwegian culture. Inspired by the Norwegian characteristic woodcarving where smooth shapes are intertwined without interruption. The cutlery carries the name Ringebu, a traditional village at the foot of Rondane, where the craft is still practiced today. The cutlery was designed by designer and silver engraver Bjørn Sigurd Østern in 1965. He was one of the most prominent designers at that time in the Norwegian goldsmith industry. Educated at the Oslo National College of Art and Design. His greatest source of inspiration was our national heritage, where clean ornaments became a trademark.
Silver flatware is renowned for its anti-bacterial properties, making it the perfect material for hygienic dining.
